Abstract
The physical, psychological, and social components of the lives of 115 older women were examined in order to gain a better understanding of the impact of living with osteoporosis. Adjustments made in the women's lives included the use of supportive devices, changes in sleep and rest patterns, not being able to carry out household tasks, less involvement in social activities, and a greater reliance on family member for assistance. Results are discussed in terms of issues facing the older women in the adjustment process.
