Abstract
Three measures of sexuality were studied based on women's self-reports. A total of three hundred and sixty premenopausal, hysterectomized, and normally postmenopausal women were compared. Frequency of sexual desire and vaginal lubrication were found to differ signicantly between the three groups when age was not controlled. When age was held constant, no differences were found. In all groups, increasing age was related to decreasing (a) libido, (b) sexual satisfaction, and (c) vaginal lubrication.
