Abstract
Over the past 20 years there has been an increase in the interest of anti-aging medicine. Along with this drive to modify the aging pathway comes a new focus on research into the forces that drive this inevitable process. Understanding the physiologic changes seen with aging helps us to better target and intervene in the process. Numerous agents are available for the treatment of aging, including topical agents, fillers, lasers and toxins. This article will focus on the topical treatments for aging, including antioxidants, retinoids and bioengineered molecules.
