Abstract

[Jiaoyu yanjiu] Editor's note: How to reform our nation's elementary school Chinese language instruction and raise the quality of that instruction are extremely important questions. In an effort to resolve them, a great number of our nation's workers in the field of Chinese language instruction have expended great effort in summing up experiences and searching for new paths. They have entered into all kinds of experiments in educational reform with heartening results. However, due to the fact that the scope of elementary Chinese language instruction is so broad and relatively complex, there are a number of questions that still await study and research. Consequently, in this issue of our journal, we are publishing three articles on this subject. This is one of the articles. As a type of research, all three articles are alike, in that all investigate educational reform. They provide a study in contrast through which the strengths of each complement the other, thus increasing the value of all and making it easier to obtain the best possible results in reform of Chinese language instruction. This is the journal's purpose in publishing this research report.
