Abstract
The imbalance that arises in a rapidly changing society between the pace of highly mechanized or automated production systems, on the one hand, and the ability of more manually oriented small-sized and middle-sized enterprises and agriculture to persist, on the other (an imbalance that is especially pronounced in Italy) puts the question of the reform of school institutions for the entire younger generation in a different light than in countries like West Germany, where industrialization is relatively consolidated throughout the entire country.
