Abstract
We are unable to offer a complete overview of the state of reform of vocational education in France in the present study. Rather, we shall limit our efforts to providing some idea of the importance of the reforms in this area for the development of the general educational system, and attempt to clarify briefly the intentions behind these reforms in vocational education. Two laws were especially significant in this respect: the Orientation Law on Vocational Education, and the law on the reform of apprenticeship training, both dated July 16, 1971.
