Abstract
Anyone entering college or university today is immediately confronted with a number of new terms. Studentenwerk [student organization] is one of them. Although the Studentenwerke have had an established place in college and university life for a long time and without them a policy of equality of opportunity and an opening up of higher education are inconceivable, only here and there have they so far been able to penetrate public consciousness with their services.
