Abstract

The educational policy of a country should not indeed be based on the sole criterion of economic efficiency since one of its main objectives is to raise the cultural level of the whole population. It remains, nevertheless, that one of the basic problems with which advanced industrialized nations are presently faced is the correlation between education and employment. It is no longer possible, as in the 1960s, to assume that developing educational facilities is sufficient for economic growth based on industrial development.
