Abstract
Difficult as it is to draw a distinction between Positive Action to inform women and Positive Action to provide them with guidance and training, the distinction between the various types of Positive Action in the fields of training, retraining, employment, and promotion for women is even more arbitrary. Action in all these fields is interconnected because its ultimate aim is to make it easier for women to find jobs, retrain, and gain promotion, either by providing them with vocational training geared to labor market needs where there is a shortage of skilled labor in, for instance, the so-called male occupations or the new technologies, or with additional training giving them access to better jobs or promotion to managerial posts.
