Similarities and Differences of Personality and Psychopathology between Alcoholics and Addicts

Abstract

In comparing any two groups, one will nearly always observe both similarities and differences. The extent of the observed differences and similarities-and the importance attributed to these observations-unfortunately will often be determined as much by the values, expectations, politics, and biases of the observer as by the similarities and differences which actually exist between the two groups being observed.
