Dr RIJK O.B. GANS is the Head and Chairman of Internal Medicine at the UMCG in Groningen, the Netherlands, and also the Program Director of internal medicine for the North-east area of the Netherlands. He is currently the Chairman of the committee that on behalf of the Central College Medical Specialties (CCMS), of which he is a member, oversees the obligatory revision of training programs of all medical specialities in the Netherlands according to the CanMeds Competencies Framework.
