The Power of Home and Hobby Crafts

Fiona Hackney Dr Fiona Hackney is a design historian with research interests in crafting, amateur and participatory practice, gender, popular women's magazines, community creativity, health, and wellbeing. She teaches at Falmouth University, UK, where she co-convenes a research group on Material and Visual Culture; is currently working on a monograph, Women's Magazines and the Feminine Imagination: Opening Up a New World for Women in Interwar Britain (I.B. Tauris, forthcoming); and runs funded collaborative research projects exploring everyday crafting and community creativity. [email protected]
