On conditions guaranteeing two rational matrices possess identical pole/zero structure

ABSTRACT

The paper consists of two parts. In the first part an equivalence transformation is proposed that leaves invariant only the pole structure of rational matrices in the extended complex plain. In the second part, the proposed equivalence transformation is extended in order to preserve the zero structure as well.
