Notes

1 During the recent virus epidemic, I was grateful to receive, ‘overseas’, an e-version of this book and the page numbers cited are based on that version of the text. However, the horrors of reading and reviewing an e-book are many, so I have kept the quotations and the indications of page numbers to a minimum. Fortunately, the key quotes can be cross-checked easily whether the book is in e-book or hardback form. The quotations come from the Preface (which is preceded by Notes on the contributors).

2 The reference is to the Harry Potter books, written by J. K Rowling. Academics who wish to check the source of the reference should, in a parallel Harry-Potter universe, watch the movies.
