ABSTRACT
In this essay, we discuss the Australian Government’s refusal to provide international students with adequate support during the COVID-19 pandemic, in spite of the hardships these students are facing in relation to mental health, financial hardship, exploitation and the risk of homelessness. We call on the Australian Government to provide better support, not only for the sake of international students but also for the benefit of the Australian international education sector.
