Abstract

High-pressure jet coolant assistance was used in the cutting process of Inconel 718. The effects of coolant pressure on cutting force and machined surface quality were researched. As well as the experimental design, Two-dimensional cutting models for Inconel 718 were established using AdvantEdge FEM software. Simulations and experiments were carried out based on the Taguchi method. The simulation predictions and experimental test results were compared. The influence of variables on cutting force and machined surface roughness was determined by variance analysis. The effect of cooling pressure on roughness of machined surfaces was studied by simulation and experiment tests.
