Abstract

In order to study the adsorption of lead by biochar and its metal complexes, starch is carbonized. The adsorption of lead ion by biochar and the complexes bonded with titanium dioxide and the effect of carbonization temperature on the adsorption capacity of biochar are studied. The results show that the carbonization temperature of 800 °C can make the starch-based carbonized materials have strong adsorption capacity, while the adsorption capacity of the composite bonded with titanium dioxide at PH 6 is much higher than that of the pure biochar. With the continuous development of industry, the concentration of lead in sewage is getting higher and higher, which will affect the health of organisms and human beings in the long run. In wastewater treatment methods, biosorption is more convenient and safe. Starch has become a better raw material for biochar because of its abundant resources and low price. As a metal adsorbent with good adsorption effect, titanium dioxide has attracted extensive attention of many scholars and has good application effect in many fields. Therefore, in this study, Biochar and metal complexes are prepared by starch and titanium dioxide respectively, so as to obtain materials with strong adsorption capacity for lead ions, which has a positive effect on the treatment of lead ions in sewage.
