Pages 239-249 | Published online: 23 Jan 2007

Abstract

The concepts of quality and satisfaction are gaining great importance in university education. The following research explores the factors that determine satisfaction with one of the services offered by universities: summer courses. The recent changes that have taken place within the area of university teaching, prominent among which is growing competition, have caused these specialised courses to become an important, differentiating element of the offer provided by each university. In this context, knowledge of the determinants of student satisfaction is vital. The results obtained show that teaching staff, enrolment, course organisation and extended education of the students are key when generating customer satisfaction.
