ABSTRACT

Mobile food-ordering apps are here to stay in the foodservice industry and their popularity is only expected to grow in the coming years. Given this knowledge some college campus dining operations have started to develop their own mobile food-ordering applications. Thus, the current study sought to assess how various aspects of the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology and its extensions influence students’ adoption intentions. The study also assessed the moderating effects of productivity orientation and fear of missing out (FoMO) two behavioral constructs that can have an influence on college students’ overall behaviors. Theoretical and practical implications are discussed.
