Producing Identities: Gender Problematization and Feminist Argumentation

Pages 185-198 | Published online: 30 Jan 2018

Abstract

Many rhetorical studies dealing with feminist argumentation have been limited because of the tendency to reify gender stereotypes. This essay reconceptualizes feminist argumentation not as an explication of “patriarchal” and “feminist” argument styles, but as an endless critique of the ways in which gender subjectivities are variously enabling and constraining.
