Psychoanalysis and Hypnosis Theory: Comments on Five Case Histories

Abstract

While psychoanalysis is, as we know, derived from hypnosis, it maintains a somewhat distant relationship with the latter today. Indeed, the two appear to differ in their mode of action. In the five clinical cases which are brought together here, an attempt will be made to identify such factors as may be common to these respective methods.
