Using Hypnotic Phenomena for Physiological Change

Abstract

The hypnotic phenomena of relaxation, anesthesia, temperature change, catalepsy are discussed, particularly as they relate to patient management and treatment. The author believes that the realization of body control by the patient is the central factor of successful treatment. Several case histories illustrate how this therapy is utilized. Mention is made of several conditions in which these hypnotic phenomena can be used.
