Adapting the Three-Step Approach (Rossi, 1986/1993) for Use with Two Young Children

Pages 48-61 | Published online: 21 Sep 2011

Abstract

In this study the use of The Basic Three-Step Approach for Accessing Creative Resources developed by Ernest L. Rossi (1986/1993) has been investigated for its adaptability for use with children for the resolution of stress related mind-body problems. The methodology utilizes ideodynamic processes, accessing questions, implied directives, and the therapeutic double bind. The two children in this study are 4- and 9-year-old girls. The results suggest that this therapeutic approach can be successfully adapted for use with young children and is worthy of continuing research.
