Acknowledgments
This review piece was made possible by an easier and smoother communication with Abigail Bradley and Marion Bowl. Their timely response and guiding questions encourage me to contribute to this journal with a growing confidence.
Being a Ph.D. candidate, I appreciate being given a space to grow and learn, amplifying my once-silenced voice. Under the 'desk-rejection' culture of academia, I wish more journals will be supportive to emerging scholars. Providing us with support and guidance, our 'imperfect' work can nonetheless make contribution to academic discourse.
Some might argue that Ph.D. stipends languish far below the minimum wage. Even so, being underprivileged, I am rather glad that my 'leisurely' reading and writing is made possible by the support of the Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarship, not to mention the Monash Graduate Excellence Scholarship (MGES).
Drawing upon Derrida's concept of marginalia, the reader might have noticed that this marginal text is used to convey the authentic voice of the author. Currently, I am experimenting to write something different in tone and style from academic seriousness. Next year you shall notice my up-and-coming works, l hope.
