Abstract

In this paper, the 30 vol% SiCp/6061Al composites were prepared by vacuum hot pressing sintering. The effect of SiC particle size on the microstructure mechanical properties and wear behaviour of SiCp/6061Al composites was studied. From the results, it is shown that the SiC particle distribution increases firstly and then decreases with the increase of the particle sizes, the relative density, microhardness, elongation, and wear rate increase firstly and then slightly decrease. If the SiC particle size is 16 μm, the comprehensive properties of the composite are the best.
