ABSTRACT
This remembrance looks at Walter Kinstch’s active efforts to promote the field of cognitive science as he implemented unique and effective plans for an active research hub that fostered and continues to foster collaborations among several key disciplines, enriching this field of interdisciplinary research. I also touch on one of the many successful translations of Kintsch’s construction-integration model to actual classroom practice to promote better comprehension and learning from text.
