Christine Rose Cooling
Christine Rose Cooling is an MA student in the Joint Program in Communication & Culture at York University and Toronto Metropolitan University in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She previously completed her Honours Bachelor of Arts in Communication & Media Studies at York University, where she was awarded the Governor General’s Silver Medal at convocation for highest academic distinction in a bachelor’s degree program. Her research interests include broadcasting, communication policy, the independent music industry, and collective identities. Her current MA thesis, funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, is focused on the history of Canadian broadcasting its didactic relationship with contemporary Canadian broadcasting policy, as well as the political-cultural work of articulating Canadian nationalism with Canada’s cultural industries.
