Discussion
Deviation of not more than ±4.0 cm between arm span and height is considered normal. In our study group the maximum difference between arm span and height was 3.10 cm (in 16-year-old boys).
In addition to the sample selection criteria, we determined that arm span exceeds height in an earlier period (both for girls and boys when they are older than 9 years) than that in the earlier study, which was conducted in Istanbul.
The results indicate that arm span exceeds height at 9 years for boys and 11 years for girls ( and Figure 2a,b).
