Eric Berne Memorial Award Acceptance Speech

Reflections on Cocreative Transactional Analysis: Acceptance Speech for the 2020 Eric Berne Memorial Award

Pages 7-18 | Published online: 24 Jan 2021

Abstract

This article is the acceptance speech for the 2020 Eric Berne Memorial Award. In it, the recipients offer their thanks for the award and acknowledge the process involved, from initiation to acceptance. This is followed by their reflections on cocreative transactional analysis (TA), stimulated by the statement supporting the nomination focusing specifically on cocreative TA as offering a new metaperspective on TA. They reflect on what they—and others—identify as the specific contributions of cocreative TA to the field over the past 20 years. In the third and final part of the article, the authors offer some thoughts about influences and future directions of cocreativity in TA.
