1. We use Hall’s (Citation1997) definition of discourse: “a cluster [or formation] of ideas, images and practices, which provide ways of talking about, forms of knowledge and conduct associated with, a particular topic, social activity or institutional site in society” (p. 4).
2. Throughout the text, we put millennial students in italics to bring attention to, and undermine, the fact that our work normalizes the term even as it seeks to unpack it.
3. We wish to acknowledge that our response is not outside of this system but is a part of the very process that we describe and interrogate.
