1 A recent review of studies that explore ideological bias in academia and its impact on students and professors illustrates that although the academe leans left, there is minimal evidence to suggest this translates into discriminatory or unfair practices (https://www.insidehighered.com/news/2017/02/27/research-confirms-professors-lean-left-questions-assumptions-about-what-means). Admittedly, though, the issue is complex.
