Channel Dimension-Dependent Electrical Study for Performance Analysis of Low-dimensional n-MOSFET Device

ABSTRACT

This paper describes the channel dimension-dependent performance analysis of n-MOSFET. Channel dimension of a MOSFET plays an important role in fabricating electronic devices for sensing applications. So, the detailed investigations are essentially required prior to electronic sensor fabrication. In this regard, we carried out a study upon various sets of electrodes with different channel dimensions throughout this work. To complete such a study, we investigated the effect of channel length/width upon electrical performance of n-MOSFET. HSPICE software was utilized for simulation of the work prior to device fabrication. Experimental validation was carried out using five sets of photolithographically patterned electrodes. The study upon various sets of channel dimension (15, 30 µm) shows the best results as per our investigation.

Milan Sasmal received his bachelors’ (Hons.) degree from Vidyasagar University, Paschim Medinipur, India, and MSc from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India, in 2001 and 2003, respectively, both in electronic science. He received MTech in materials engineering from the Bengal Engineering and Science University, Shibpur, India, in 2008. He obtained PhD from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, Kharagpur, India. He was an assistant professor of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering department, Vidyapratisthan Kamalnayan Bajaj Institute of Engineering and Technology. Currently, he is working as an assistant professor, School of IT/Networking Skill, Bhartiya Skill Development University, Jaipur.
