An Elegant Mess: Reflections on the Research of Edward Z. Tronick

Pages 337-354 | Published online: 18 May 2015

Notes

1 I have not made an attempt to contextualize Tronick’s research from within the body of child and infant research. Thus, I do not discuss the work of many researchers, such as Beebe and Lachmann (Citation1994), Stern (Citation1985), and numerous others, who have enriched the understanding of infant–parent interaction and infant development. Instead, I focus on Tronick’s work in the context of the body of contemporary clinical and theoretical psychoanalytic writing, an area I am more qualified to discuss.
