Jennifer E. Sims

Dr. Jennifer E. Sims, a Professorial Lecturer at the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies, was Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Intelligence Coordination from 1994 to 1998, and the State Department's first Coordinator for Intelligence Resources and Planning from 1998–2001. Previously, she was a defense and foreign policy advisor to then-U.S. Senator John Danforth (R., Missouri). She is coeditor, with Burton Gerber, of Transforming U.S. Intelligence (Washington, D.C.: Georgetown University Press, 2005). In 1998, Dr. Sims was awarded the National Intelligence Community's Distinguished Service Medal by then-Director of Central Intelligence George J. Tenet.
