Abstract
Remaking Scarcity is a timely piece of important scholarship that provides the reader with alternatives for dealing with the age-old issue of “scarcity.” Panayotakis contends that scarcity can arise under any economic system, and in this book he systematically lays out his agenda for change using the concept of “economic democracy” to show how one can address the problem, which often tends to be ignored by other left scholars. He shows the reader how a system of economic democracy can improve not only working conditions but also the society in which we live.
Notes
1Panayotakis addresses these issues tangentially in this work, possibly giving him the opportunity to consider them further in future endeavors.
