Acknowledgements

This special issue draws mainly on papers presented at the international workshop “Which regions benefit from emerging new industries? Evidence from photovoltaic and other high-tech industries” in September 2010. The workshop was jointly organized by the Halle Institute for Economic Research (IWH) and the Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena and brought together 40 researchers in fields of Innovation Economics, Evolutionary Economics and Economic Geography.
