ABSTRACT
This paper describes an example of collaborative teaching between a university professor and a community advocate with lived experience with the criminal justice system. Inspired by bell hooks’ concept of boundary crossing, we describe the course logistics and the possibilities that collaborative teaching holds to challenge traditional notions of justice and power in the university classroom.
