Abstract

A novel and efficient three-component reaction of substituted benzoyl chlorides, potassium selenocyanate and vinyl malononitriles was developed for the synthesis of polycyclic selenopyrans via an ultrasound-assisted domino vinylogous nucleophilic reaction/intramolecular selenocyclization/imine-enamine tautomerization reaction. Introducing a simple one-step method and use of available starting materials and mild reaction conditions are the most important advantages of this strategy.
