Generalizing the scope of group problem‐solving models

A number of alternative models for testing differences between group and individual problem solving are compared. By modifying the best model (Steiner‐Rajaratnam), it is shown how a wider range of hypotheses may be tested. Using data from two different studies, these modifications are shown to have wider applicability, generality and specificity than early models.
