A NEW LOOK AT DOCUMENTATION AND TRAINING

Technical Communicator as Problem Solver

Pages 47-55 | Published online: 06 Feb 2007

Abstract

Users need quality documentation and training. A technical communicator can be an indispensable communications analyst and problem solver for an organization, helping to analyze user requirements, clarify the documentation process, develop information products, and provide computer training. By assisting IS management in solving increasingly complex communication problems, this person can also shed the one-dimensional image of the technical writer who works solely as a software documenter at the end of the development process.
