Monika Gintersdorfer
Monika Gintersdorfer studied German language and literature and theatre, film and television sciences in Cologne, and directing in Hamburg. She is a founding member of the German- French-West African theatre/performance group Gintersdorfer/Klaßen, founded in 2005 with Knut Klaßen. In 2016, Gintersdorfer and choreographer Franck E. Yao founded the group La Fleur: they analyse and dance French literature from a transcultural perspective and deal with the hybridization of dance and music styles, for example in Coupé-decalé or Afro-Trap. After creating her own productions at the Hamburger Schauspielhaus, Münchner Kammerspiele and Salzburger Festspiele (2000-2004), Monika Ginterdorfer presented performances under the label Gintersdorfer/Klaßen at the Volksbühne Berlin, Kampnagel in Hamburg, Theater Aachen, Schauspiel Köln, Ringlockschuppen Mülheim, Theater Bremen, KVS Brüssel, Rotterdamse Schouwbourg, Teatro Maria Matos in Lisbon, Pumpenhaus Münster, WERK X in Vienna, FFT in Düsseldorf and many other places in Africa, Europe and Australia. La Fleur cooperates with partner theatres in the French-speaking world, including MC93 in Bobigny, La Commune in Aubervilliers and Théâtre de Vidy in Lausanne.
