When the above article was published online and in print, the following errors were not detected.
Due to metadata errors, a number of deaths were left out of the survival analyses. This affected mainly mortality rate, which was higher (182 patients (83%) in the updated dataset). The patient group with missing death-dates was not significantly correlated to any of the variables predicting survival, and can in that regard be considered a random sample from the cohort. Thus, the most important change is that the total mortality is somewhat higher than reported in the paper, but the main findings and conclusions remain unchanged. In the multivariate analysis, LVEF and anticoagulant use were significant independent predictors of survival, whereas gender did not reach statistical significance. These additional data do not alter the main message of the paper, and except from the statement that gender was an independent predictor of survival, the conclusion and main findings of the study remain unchanged.
