Abstract
Hospitality management educators are charged with developing students' key abilities in preparation for their entry into the industry. These abilities include communication skills, interpersonal skills, ability to make difficult decisions, and conceptual skills. One means by which educators can meet the needs of their students and industry professionals is through the use of experiential learning, specifically consulting. This article uses experiential-learning literature, decision-making skill development literature, and consulting literature to propose a framework for embedding decision-making skills within experiential-learning opportunities. This article also illustrates the use and appropriateness of the framework through a case-study approach.
