In-depth, semi-structured interviews and focus-group discussions were conducted with key informants from five catering business establishments in Bandung. With the use of the case study approach, the study found that the level of entrepreneurial competencies in catering business owners falls generally in the middle, with some at low levels. Three main competencies were identified in this study: ideas and opportunities, resources, and actions. The implications of these findings are explored.
