Abstract
This paper provides an examination into a student's placement experience in a homeless unit and the challenges encountered. The analysis illustrates the importance of theoretical and philosophical ideas in the resolution of ethical situations. Ethical issues are discussed within the context of the individual's right to be self-determining. Anti-oppressive frameworks are also explored in relation to the philosophical ideas of Kant and utilitarianism.
