Linda Briskman is Professor of Human Rights at the Swinburne Institute for Social Research in Melbourne Australia. Her practice, research and advocacy endeavours focus on Indigenous rights, asylum seeker rights and challenges to Islamophobia. In recent years she has extended her research into the international realm, including Indonesia and Iran. She publishes widely, including nine books. [email protected]

Yasmin Dean is an associate professor of social work at Mount Royal University in Calgary, Canada. The primary focus of her work is on participatory research efforts that help to improve and increase cultural relevance within social work curriculum. [email protected]
