Notes

Taijiquan is a soft form of Chinese martial arts. ‘Tai ji’, the supreme ultimate; ‘quan’, fist: the martial arts boxing. I have chosen to use Taijiquan, the full name of the original Chinese words 太极拳 instead of taiji or tai chi.

Late Master Yang Zhi Qun was my first teacher in Taijiquan. I had practised with him between 1993 and 2010 whenever I travelled back home in Singapore. The master passed away in 2016.

My personal diary notes.

Theatre OX was a group I led and founded alongside other performers in 1995, which was active in Singapore from 1995 to 1997. It was officially terminated in 2007.

Island Ubin is one of the few remaining places in the urbanised Singapore that still resembles village life and wild nature.
