RESUMEN

Este artículo aborda la incorporación de variedades dialectales del español en aplicaciones móviles de aprendizaje. Mediante un análisis del léxico de Duolingo, se compara su vocabulario sobre viajes con las Nociones específicas del Plan Curricular del Instituto Cervantes (PCIC). El análisis de la variación dialectal permite comparar: a) el índice de frecuencia del vocabulario, b) la expansión geográfica de las voces y c) el grado de representatividad léxica. Los resultados iniciales sobre frecuencia léxica obtenidos de corpus se matizan con el análisis de la expansión geográfica y el cálculo de representatividad, permitiendo resultados más precisos sobre la variación. El estudio revela que Duolingo refleja la norma panhispánica en su curso de español para anglófonos, a diferencia del vocabulario del PCIC. El análisis de la interfaz y el funcionamiento de Duolingo muestra cómo las aplicaciones digitales exploran nuevas metodologías y funciones para integrar las variedades diatópicas en la enseñanza del español.

ABSTRACT

This article addresses the incorporation of Spanish dialectal varieties in mobile learning applications. Through an analysis of Duolingo's lexicon, its travel vocabulary is compared with the Nociones específicas from the Plan Curricular del Instituto Cervantes (PCIC). The analysis of dialectal variation allows for the comparison of: a) the frequency index of the vocabulary, b) the geographical expansion of the terms, and c) the degree of lexical representativeness. Initial results on lexical frequency obtained from corpora are refined by analyzing geographical expansion and representativeness, allowing for more precise results on variation. The study reveals that Duolingo reflects the pan-Hispanic norm in its Spanish course for English speakers, in contrast to the PCIC vocabulary. The analysis of Duolingo's interface and functionality demonstrates how digital applications explore new methodologies and functions to integrate diatopic varieties into the teaching of Spanish.
