Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of strategic management on good governance in sport via the mediation of organizational structure in selected Ethiopian Olympic sports federations. We employed the cross-sectional survey design to collect data through a structured questionnaire from 265 respondents randomly selected from six sports federations and analyzed the data using descriptive statistics and structural equation modeling using SPSS AMOS 23.0. The results indicate that (1) strategic management and organizational structure have positive and significant direct effects on good governance in sport, and (2) organizational structure also significantly mediates the influence of strategic management on good governance in sport. Hence, the findings of this study signify the need for a fit between strategy and structure to enhance the implementation of good governance in sport.
