Predictibilidad de los mensajes educativos entre madres e hijos en familias en riesgo psicosocial

Resumen

Este estudio compara, en primer lugar, las prácticas, metas, emociones y atribuciones en situaciones educativas hipotéticas reportadas por 82 diadas de madres e hijos/as de entre 8 y 12 años procedentes de familias en riesgo psicosocial. En segundo lugar, se analiza la influencia de dichas variables en la predictibilidad de las prácticas y de las metas, medida según el grado de precisión con que los hijos/as evalúan las prácticas y metas de sus madres. Los resultados muestran que las madres reportan prácticas y metas más positivas, menos emociones positivas y más atribuciones negativas. Por el contrario, los hijos/as consideran que sus madres realizan más prácticas coercitivas y negligentes, usan metas de control y seguimiento de normas y ellos manifiestan más emociones y atribuciones positivas. En los modelos de regresión, se muestra la influencia negativa de la coerción y la negligencia en la predictibilidad de las prácticas y metas. La práctica restrictiva así como las emociones negativas y positivas de la madre predicen positivamente la predictibilidad de prácticas y metas.

Abstract

This study first compares child-rearing practices, goals, emotions and attributions during hypothetical educational situations reported by 82 mother-child dyads, (children aged 8 to 12 years), of families at psychosocial risk. Second, the study analyzes the influence of the above variables on the readability of practices and goals, measured according to the degree of accuracy with which children evaluate their mothers' practices and goals. The results showed that mothers reported more positive practices and goals across situations, less positive emotions and more negative attributions. By contrast, children rated their mothers as using more coercive and neglectful practices, control goals, and norm compliance, while they reported more positive emotions and attributions. Regression models showed the negative influence of coercion and negligence on the readability of practices and goals. Mothers' restrictive practices as well as their positive and negative emotions positively predicted the readability of practices and goals.
